What is the AFR you're seeing at WOT? I don't know exactly what is still "safe" but know 11:1 should be fine but was just curious what some of you others were running AFR wise after being tuned. Thanks ~Trent

depends on the tuner and the brand of wideband you have.

Are you talking about:
A. dyno logged ARF
or
B. in car wideband afr after tuning and on the road?

It's going to vary depending on the sensor you have, the sensor age, etc. I always log my incar wideband while on the dyno so I can compair the two afterwards and figure out what I need to see on my in car wideband to equal what the dyno wide band was reading.

X's can run 12:1 under full boost on the dyno, but that is no good on the street. That being said, the X will take a little leaner AFR than VIII's and IX's so mid 11's should be ok, but again we could be tuned at the same afr on the same dyno and get different results from our in car widebands by as much as .5 or more.

 

I'm talking about the AFR's you are seeing on the road on the wideband. I'm uing an Innovate LC-1. Also please post what your tuned with so I can get a good idea of variances between tuning like AP or Ecutek. Thanks!

 

AP, custom stage 2 map: LC1 today just looking down while pulling in 2nd and 3rd on a flat surface it was pegged at 10.6:1.

I have a high flow cat *behind* my wideband sensor so that will make it appear a bit richer than it is, however I think my tune is a bit rich due to a couple factors: conservative tune by Cobb and I think I had a crack in my o2 housing when we were dynoing.

I have an AEM. Im at mid 11s on the street. Low 12 to mid 12s on gotham's dyno.

Mid 11's on the dyno, in car LC-1 reads about .3 leaner than wideband on the dyno.

The tool used for tuning should not affect the consistency of AFR's. Shelf maps / mail in tunes will tend to be a little on the rich side as compared to a custom tune to account for car to car variance.

Anyone running 12:1 on the dyno really needs an EGT gauge. X's will run 12:1 happily on the dyno, not so much on the road, EGT's will shoot up to 1600 and beyond in a hurry

 

X's like to be leaner than 8's and 9's. We run our Evo X 12.0 on our dyno, and see 11.6.-11.8 on the street.
