AP owner; Question about factory reflash
Ok, I have the Cobb AP w/ a stage 2 tune, dropin filter, and turboback exhaust. Today I went to start the car and as the rpms came back down, it dropped down to like 100rpms and I blipped it to keep it going, it wanted to go down again so I gave it more gas and it was fine. My question is, do I need the reflash from the factory still? I was thinking if I got it the AP would just negate the effects of the factory flash anyways; or am I wrong? If so, I just set it back to stock, have the dealer flash it and then put back on the stage 2? Any incite? Thanks.
When you install the AccessPORT it flashes on a new ROM that completely overwrites the factory tune. So even if you take it to the dealer and have it reflashed, when you reinstall the AP, it will write over whatever is on the ECU again. So, this will not help you as far as solving the issue. Check your vacuum lines and your boost tube connections. Make sure that everything is tight. If you car was running fine and then all of a sudden you have an issue, it is probably not the tune. Was the A/C when you turned the car on? Since you have a stock intake then you would not be experiencing MAF interference from these fans but perhaps the accessory idle compensation is off a bit. Also, your tune is not calibrated for your panel filter, so that might be an issue as well.
