Damn, you sold that quick! I can't wait to get a custom tune from master KevinD. Is that what you plan on doing in the near future?

Going with a different setup that might or might not work with the accessport and I'm a hacker so I wanted to be involved with the open source stuff.

The accessport is a good tool, especially for those people that don't have a laptop and don't want to mess with stuff. But I like to tinker and there is a lot larger "tinkerer" community surrounding the open source stuff than there is with the accessport.

ETA: I'd had the accessport for about 5 months, so it's not like I *just* got it. I actually got it the day ECUFlash was released.

I'm starting to lean in this direction too for very similar reasons.

Which cable are you using? When I looked at cables they all only specified support for up to Evo IX, even though the ecuflash site specified that it worked for Xs? I'm thinking it's a misprint on the site for the cable, but would appreciate confirmation

yeah the stock tune is pathetic. i flashed it back to stock and drove to the dealer for inspection and i felt like i was making more noise and smoke than actual speed/power. i felt like a total ricer.

Congrats on going to open source!

I change stuff too much and want very precise end user control, so I've never been a target customer for an AP on any of my cars.

I think you'll be really happy with this decision; it looks like the X is finally going the way of the VIII and IX. When Evoscan is 100%, Ecuflash will be an unstoppable force.

So what did the final results from this weekends tuning sessions yield man? What did you get your AFR's balanced out to at WOT? I'm assuming your not running out of fuel yet and that it was just a Cobb mix up before. Did you turn the boost back down or is it at what we talked about on the phone still?

I've not done anything since we talked. Going back in to play with stuff more tomorrow.

I think when I got tuned at Cobb I had an exhaust leak that was making the car look leaner than it really was (leading them to say I was out of injector). Right now, everything looks ok, but the map I'm on has a bit to go to be finished.

Ah gotcha. You've got PM. Just for giggles since you're going to be at the shop again, you should see how the fuel pump relay is holding up on your car and if it's still clicking over properly like it should that way you don't end up like me with a "tuned" map that is then worthless after realizing the relay had been going bad for a while before it finally crapped out completely...

I hope i never have to go back to the stock tune. i just have a K&N cone filter and the AMS base flash right now...totally different car. going back to the stock tune would make me not enjoy driving my car anymore. As soon as i got my car...i loved it, but i hated driving it knowing that the flash would make it SOO much better. And it did.
