OBDII Code Reader Compatible with the X
OBDII Code Reader Compatible with the X
I'm looking into buying an OBDII code reader, but I know a lot of the ones on the market aren't compatible with brand new cars, even if they claim to work with cars "1996 and newer." I don't want to spend a ton of money (<$100) and I'd like a small-ish one. Some of the units seem to be pretty big, and I'd like to keep it in the glove compartment.
I was looking at some Equus and Actron ones, and the frontrunner seems to be the Actron CP9410. It's around $60 on Amazon.
It's not always convenient for me to go to Pep Boys or Autozone and I'll be using this for cars other than my Evo as well.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

You need one that talks CAN bus.
I have this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94169 (but mine is orange) and it works like a champ. Small enough to keep in the map pocket in my door.
