Can't Decide

I have been in Iraq for 11 months now, and will return in October. I have been looking for ways to mod my car when I get back this whole deployment. I can't come to a solid decision.

This is my general idea: I am in Hawaii so the chances of getting a tune are slim to none. So, I would like to get the Cobb AP and run the stage 2. The intake choices are slim for this option. I want an open element filter for the simple whoosh factor. It's my first turbo'd car and it excites me. I want the AMS short ram, but I can't see myself paying almost $400 for the intake w/bungs and shield. I would love to have the Harman Motive as it is almost half the price with no shield which I can purchase for $50. The Cobb SF intake is no longer an option apparently. I need the car to run flawless as it is my daily driver.

So to all that have been there and done that, or have some solid ideas, please help bring some peace to my decision.

when you say "whoosh factor" are you just talking about sound? if you decide on the cobb and want to run stage 2, just get the HKS panel filter

I thought there was no point in it at first, since it makes the same amount of power as the plain stage 2 reflash, but I got it anyway and you can hear the intake alot more as well as the BOV. Don't spend 400 on an intake, get the HKS panel for 40 and trust me you won't be dissapointed with the way it sounds.

Yes, I am talking about the BPV sound. I've heard Evo's with panel filters and to me it sounded like the stock airbox. I have an open element filter on right now and I LOVE the sound. I'm definately not into the whole ricer BPV cult. I just want a safe open element filter that I can run with the AP safely, and cheaply.

Do you have a video of the panel filter on your car?

Drop in filter > CBE/TBE > Cobb ap/tune. If you still want some more "whoosh" then get an BOV...

With all of the problems that fellow X owners have had with aftermarket BOV's that is definately not an option. I want the car to be as reliable as possible yet fun.
