Are OTS AccessPORT maps safe?

I'm a neophyte with tuning so bear with me. I would not know exactly what to look for if I did any logging or had a wideband so...For you experienced tuners, have you found the Cobb and Perrin Stage 1 maps to be within acceptable limits on an all stock Evo X?

Thanks.

Yes, I've had the Cobb AP on my car for 10k+ miles, and I put down 350hp/360tq on a Cobb stg 2 map running 10.9-11.3 AFRs. YMMV.

yep. Their OTS maps are extremely safe. Just make sure you get the right one for your mods and such.( they have maps for specific parts. They dont just use a general CAI map for example.) If you run them exactly how they say to, then there shouldn't be any problems.

Just give them a call if you have any questions. I talked to someone via PM and they were extremely helpful.

If you are paranoid about safety then you should not mod your car. Tuners take the OTS maps several stages further, so the assumed answer is "YES, OTS MAPS ARE SAFE".

35000 miles, the last 17000 or so on the Cobb stg1 93 octane. No problems except two speeding tickets!

The AP has the ability to log key things, so you can make sure you are safe.

But on the flip side, when I installed the Stage 2 +AEM 91 map, I over boost to ~28 lbs. I'm not sure what would happen if I had left the car that way, but I logged and changed. That simple. My car saw 28 lbs maybe 2 - 3 times.

Golden, check the stage II notes - they specifically address the overboost issue there.

It should be safe, but this cant beat fine tuning on a dyno. Remember that every car is different, so an OTS map can only benefit so much..
