cobb ap knock retard ?

ok noob here......I just got a cobb ap and fired up stage 2. Well I went into live logging and went into "knock retard" and I'm getting a reading up to 2.4 at low rpms, but I did a few WOT and got one reading up to 1.8 and seeing a few pulls over 1.1......how bad is this and what can I do to fix issue? What else should I be looking for in my cobb ap live data logging?

no wb or atr, I need to get that stuff soon. I thought I could run stage 2 with no big issues. Dang, well what can I do to make knock go away? I got 50/50 mix of 100 octane and 91 and that didn't seem to help much. I guess I'll go back to stage 1

Formula is

Cobb number / .35 = knock count.

Switch to the AZ 91 octane stage 2 map. If that still doesn't work.. sorry to say but it's either use Stage 1 91 and fall back to stage 1 AZ 91, or get a pro tune.

Well if you don't know what your AFRs are I would check Fuel pump relay. Might be going bad. Could be to lean, bad gas, timing all kind of stuff. But I would change your fuel pump relay with headlight think it is and re-log. Find thread on here or look in your manual and see what one is the FP relay.

Also what year?

Sorry...

Formula is

Knock Retard (CA) / .35 = knock count

examples:
.35 = 1 knock count
1.05 = 3 knock count
2.46 = 7 knock count
12.66 = 36 knock count (I sure hope you don't see this one lol)

12.66 would sound like a Jamaican in your engine bay playing some steel drums.

so whats an acceptable range of knock?

0.35 to 1.05 is fine for the most part? anything above that, you should look into diagnosis?

But if its at same rpm area and starts to knock .35 or whatever there is a problem in that area with timing or whatever. Lets say everytime you do a pull in 3rd or 4th and at 4500rpm you start seeing knock everytime there is a problem. Now if you do 3-4 pulls and 1 pull out of them there is knock at that rpm area your fine.

Cobb says that 1.05 and less is normal as long as its random. Some say its almost impossible to tune them all out.
