AFR question/problem

Hey guys,

so I had a pretty bad exhaust leak several weeks ago, (like mid pipe and test pipe were held together by yarn) and I finally got off my lazy **** and fixed it.

Now with the leak, i tuned my self to 11.4-.5 to redline, 1-2 counts of knock sporadically, and it pulled like a dream.

Now with the leak fixed ( Keep in mind my wideband is at the front of my test pipe) i do some logs and im in the 10's.... so i was thinking, okay, exhaust leak, unwanted air could be throwing off my readings.

So i busted out my trusty AFR calculator to get my AFR's back to 11.4-11.5 and that is where the issue ensues.

Now i know the values in the ECUFlash table don't reflect the actual AFR Value, but it is strange because when i had the leak, the values were in the 12's on the table, then fixed the leak, values on the table are still in the 12's but my actual readings are in the 10's and so i adjust accordingly and the table values are now up in the 13's.

Do some logging and i'm reading 11.0-11.2 by redline confused I try to adjust the table values again even higher, and i'm still hitting around 11.2 afr's by redline. All the while my knock sum is nothing to worry about.

So thats where im looking for your help. Anyone experience anything like this?

Is it an issues with my WB (have the Innovate LC-1)?

Is it the limitations of my system? ( running 0/2 dump to ressonated 3" test pipe to stock catback).

Or something else?

please no flames for running and exhaust leak, and please no " get a full 3" exhaust" , trust me I would if i could but im broke as a joke.

Anyways, thanks for any input!

-Storm.

This is your issue:

But you need to scale your maf down a bit to bring the AFR values closer to actual.

I ran into this same issue before. When I upped these values, it brought my AFR leaner finally. I then scaled my MAF down a hair to make it look better.

Are you on the stock MAF scalings?

Might want to recalibrate your wideband sensor and double check that it's reading accurately.

Golden, is that your current setup? What are the 'unknown units?' I was wondering what that table did, perhaps this will finally help me lean out my AFRs.

No, that one is from the stock rom. Mine is set to 13.5. My AFR immediately went leaner after I bumped it up. The first time I set it to 13.1 to see what it would do. Then I went to 13.5. Then I scaled my MAF down some. And that is actually where I stopped. My AFR is still not where I want it, it is a tad rich, but the car is safe. I guess I need to toy with it some more. I kind of tune my car here and there.

Percent 255 would make sense with the axis I have.

No i am running values i obtained from Xprimt maf spread sheet due to my 3inch intake. the current values still may be a little high as the ltft idle trim will fluctuate from -1 to -8 depending on how I drive, but my cruise trim stays between +-5.

Do you have the definitions for the table? I know you have a 2010, but just checking

Yeesh, you need to do more scaling then.

Did you just do it the one time? I did it a number of times before it was in check.

I do have scalings for your 08 GSR... But I'd like to see your MAF scaled better first.

What intake are you scaling for? List all mods... I may have scalings for you.

no no, i am able to get my maf scaled correctly via Xprimnt scaling excel.

I was talking about the table you first mentioned.

but either way my mods are

Greddy uicp with a Greddy RS bov attached (recirc)
AGP Cold Air Intake
Perrin MBC
XtremeBoost 0/2 vent to atmosphere downpipe
T1R resonated Test pipe
Stock catback.

Tune wise Im at about 23-24 psi peak tapering down to 17-18 by redline.
AFR is still at 11.2 to redline.
My timing builds up to about 13* by redline.
