Tephra LC-1 question..
Tephra LC-1 question..
I got it back after having some issues with it working, but after I do the free air calibration, can I unplug the WB from the cable so I can get the WB into the bung? The cable is bunching up on me and I can't get it straight, I don't know how I did it the last time.
you can..
but you MUST disconnect the WB from the LC1 with the power off.
I turn the power off for a good 30 seconds - just to be sure - then disconnect the WB from the LC1..
Obvisouly reconnect it BEFORE re-powering the LC1

Bunching up??? What if you twist the cable a dozen or so times, then thread it into the bung?
Is that what's happening? When you turn the WB onto the bung the cable gets all kinked? If you twist the cable up before installing, the threading un-twists...

yes, I tried that several times, I wound up getting it though and then just turning the unit that's inside the car.
LOL! PITA for sure...
I do remember having this issue on a different car, I'd twist the wires up then install and either did too many twists before threading or too little. After 3 or 4 tries though not a single twist.

If you have the DB gauge with push button or the XD16 like I have you can be cruising down the road (With the car IN gear take your foot off the throttle) watch the AFR's go to 20.9 or 0 or whatever comes up after a second or two then with your foot still of the throttle and car in gear hit the calibration button. When coasting in gear there is no fuel being added just fresh air pumping through and saves a lot of time pulling the sensor.
oh yeah thats been discussed before, but I was answering his question as it was
you dont even need the guage, just check your fuel usage screen on the combo display - once it drops to 0 you can do the free air calibration...
i do it about 5 seconds after its dropped to 0, just to be doubley sure.
then i got back and review the IPW log to be tripply sure
