error protected area (ecuflash)
im not sure what im doing wrong here but im trying to write a new rom onto the ecu and keep getting this error

[17:13:21.975] the image you are trying to flash contains changes to protected areas! exiting.

its because you arn't flashing a rom from the same series.

ie you might be trying to flash 53040010 over the top of 52680020

whats the current romid and the new romid?

im not even sure..the rom im trying to write is 52680018 and the one that i have (stock) is unknown says i have to make my own definitions or use the wizard im lost at that part

well you have a 2010 EvoX.

That will be 55570006 or 55580006 depending if its 5MT or SST.

Don't use 52680018
