Front o2 Sensor Problems Input Needed

So ive been getting the p0133 after my last tune. Tuner said front o2 is crapping out. So i look around for alternatives and someone says you can swap the rear and front o2. So i do that. Drive around everything seems fine. Then p0133 pops up again...makes no sense as when it was in the rear o2 spot it never popped a code for failing o2 sensor. I can barely drive the car, flooring it just upsets my engine and cuts off power on me, first gear is a complete pain in the *** to get moving without the car sounding like its choking itself to death. Clearing these are all the symptoms of a bad front o2? Correct? And was it just dumb luck that both my front and rear o2 are shot...Any input is greatly appreciated. I did order a new front o2, but figure i see what people have to say.

Get a way to log your fuel trims, I bet it will show you a clearer picture.

I had a similar issue very recently. First the stock front o2 went out and then I bought a no-name replacement that failed in just two weeks.

We suspect it is due to the car blowing too much oil out the exhaust (presumably the turbo but that'll be dealt with over the Winter).

I'm running open loop right now and the car seems to run perfectly. I imagine there are some downsides in fuel efficiency for disabling the o2 sensors but I don't get any more CELs from them. lol.

You could make open loop run at ~15 AFR and actually get better fuel economy. With E-85, you could go even leaner if you want. I believe that some run 15.5 AFR for econ purposes.

My cruise averages 15. It actually idles up in the 16-17 range at times. Makes me a little nervous but I suppose it doesn't matter at 1k rpms. I plan to get a more thorough retune in a few weeks.

Well i replaced my o2 sensor. Drove around. Idles 11/12. Cruise 14/15. Accel 12s. But WOT i allways hit a violent cut, boost or fuel i dont know. Then my p0133 shows up again =\ Ive checked my o2s and they arent covered in oil of such. I dont know what else to do.

Usually with large *** injectors, you run rich at idle. It's super easy to richen idle up if it is in open loop.

There's no doubt I need to study some of the basics of tuning this Winter. I've just kept busy trying to get the car built and running properly.

Isn't Ron your tuner? I'd swing by and talk to him if it were me. I assume scheides would help you log a pull if you don't have a Tactrix/laptop.

Im running 2150cc's. Yeah im going to try to. I just havent had time. When he finished tuning me he said the o2 was crapping out. So i replaced it and seems i still get the code, but car runs better. Before i was getting front o2 and system to rich. Now just front o2. Just seems my car hits a wall when i hit max boost.

I bet the injectors are scaled incorrectly. The trims are most likely off. This will trip that code.

Resetting the ECU will reset the trims and your car will run "different" until the trims max out again.

You really need to log the trims...

Where do you live? I'm in Minneapolis and work in Eden Prairie if you want to meet up for lunch/logging. Don't be a stranger, I can help. I'm around all weekend too

Make time for this before you break something.

Oh didnt see that. Thanks for offering to help scheides. Rons gonna take a look at it today. Hes just trying to figure out how to get these 2150cc's running correctly. He was trying to compromise idle and scaling. Running the scaling good seemed to make the car not idle good. Now running the idle good seems to make scaling not right. On the dyno he didnt get any of these symptoms iam receiving though. Almost as if i hit a giant pool of water in the road. I assume fuel cut.. I luv CEL's =]

Run idle in open loop, apparently that is the key...if you haven't already.

I too have thrown this code and this is the fourth time it's thrown it. My car has 4k miles and my mods are listed below. I was told that exhaust leaks can throw this code and when I get home I'm going to check and see if I have any. I put my mods on at 2500 miles and have three the first code 1000 miles after and cleared it and reset it twice and every 200 miles it comes back on. I'm really pissed and trying to figure out why. I'm running the stage 2 ams map on the older software. Tonight I'm going to download the last software and update my accessport and re flash my car. If this does not work Kevin D from Evo Dynamics is going to retune my car.

I guess. Problems vs Fuel Efficiency. Just disconnect front o2 to run open loop?
