exhaust makes consegative poping noises?

Hey guys....I just heard my exhaust went "pop pop pop" when I am slowing down from 1st gear. All I have is an intake + greddy Ti-C (not turbo back) plus the lastest factory tunes, I know a couple of guys does this with downpipes and test pipes...so I am wondering is it normal or is my exhaust messed up?

its fairly normal when you add things that produce xtra hp without a tune for them. its just backpressure. just get a tune and it should be fine.

you'll still have it with a tune... I believe it is mostly MIVEC related, with the occasional backfire in there for good measure. but yes, otherwise normal.

Its cool. As long as your not a d**k about it. I make backfiring noises in my base lancer during shifts and it doesn't bother them. But its gettin bad around here since all these lil honda kids are street racing around my parts. Just be casual. Don't stay in gear when slowing down.

I don't have a tune and only have an ETS Quiet CBE and ETS UICP. I occassionally have small popping sounds when cruising around town, or at WOT. I never heard these with the stock CBE, but maybe they were happening and I didn't just hear it.

I had the same poping noise when I had my Greddy SE catback installed. This backfire noise disappeared when I later had my downpipe installed.

This will also be fixed after you have a tune, even using one of the cobb OTS map

Sorry for bumping old thread, but this seems to be the sweet spot for shift pops?

I get the best pop in 4th gear when accelerating around 2000 RPMs up to 3200 RPMs then letting off real quick. Sometimes it sounds like a 12ga shotgun. ^_^

Sure probably scare pedestrians. I'm running CBE and HFC are you running a similar setup?
