who removed pin 9?
who removed pin 9?
so I recently purchased an OP2 and was reading up on how to get everything to work while I was waiting for fedex to do its thing...
I found this tuning guide on the EvoScan website:
http://evoscan.com/ecuflash/Merlins%...ersion%20K.pdf
the first paragraph on page 19 says:
First, a caution: It has been reported that cables fitted with a connection to pin 9 can, on very rare occasions, brick the ETACS unit. Pin 9 is a timing pulse signal required for flashing Subaru ECUs and is not required for flashing the Evo EFI controller. If your cable has this pin fitted, the safe move is to remove it with a pair of long-nose pliers.
so have many of you have removed this pin 9? I've tried searching on here and the other forum but haven't really found anything.
also, just to be sure, do I remove it from the OP2, the tactrix thing that I bought, or from the port in my car?
ps
I'm new to all this self tuning stuff... so go easy on me...
