Only thing I can say is keep powering off the car, turning it back to on position, and then retrying to flash it.

if the flash completed properly then you have invalidated your ROM file somehow (bad definition most likely)

you will need to revert to the last known good ROM file..

however todo that you will need to bench your ECU (run a bunch of wires from the OP20 -> ECU)

there are a few threads on how todo it on here (or the above link is probably ok too)

FYI, once it says "flash complete" in the log it is not actually complete. The first time I read an Evo X I had this problem... the read timed out and I still got a popup that said complete.

You can try a full read again, just make sure it is completely done. There also used to be a menu option to pull the car out of flash mode. I'd try these before you bench it.

UPDATE- I benched the ecu and was able to flash in my map. Upon putting the ecu back in the car the fans still run like crazy and the check lights are popping up. PLUS THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK NOW> What is causing this?? I'm stuck really bad here. I even benched the ecu again and flashed in a generic map. Still all the same issues. HELP me please guys

so when you bench it and flash the original map do you flash it twice (first in recovery, second not in recovery)?

yes first in recovery the second not. I used one of the generic maps from a thread where they gave you maps to start from when beginning to tune your x. Does anyone have an oem factory map for my car? Ill post up the id in one min after i get it from ecuflash

would it make sense to erase the ecu out of the car (benching) then put it in the car and install my rom? Instead of benching the ecu and installing the rom before I put it back in the car?

SOLUTION- Figured it out. One of the pins on the ecu was slightly bent causing the car to go into "freak out mode" because that pin control the power for other systems. Fixed the pin and fixed my problem!
