Hey Guys,


I know I'm fresh to this but I've been doing alot of reading from all the evo's forums and the tuning info and have not found this problem listed anywhere so maybe I overlooked it or google was playing tricks on me.. but maybe you can help point me in the right direction.. Here goes..

Latest non beta of EcuFlash 1.42.2595
Stock Rom-Internal ID:52690021 Mem Model: M32186F8

I was able to seemingly, without problem, pull the rom off my car without error from ecuflash. Instantly saved the rom as save as with a name and it saved it as a .hex file under /Start Menu/Programs/Ecuflash at a size of 1024kb that looks to be the same as other roms I've downloaded and looked at and opened successfully. So I go to open my rom and all I can see is the ROM Info under Metadata. No Tables Etc..... So I do a little research and find that I need the .xml file with the metadata for this rom so I go find one from GoldenEvo's site and apply the file to the correct folder that houses all the stock .xml files that came with ecuflash and I see that this one is larger like at around 50kb others are like 1kb or 11kb or 15kb. i open it and look at the stock ones and they just seem to house the ROM Info Section while the one I got for my rom has that and many scaling values and such.. but even with that I could not get it to display the tables.. so I go find one from some other sources but there all the same file size roughly and none of them seem to work.. I spoke with Kasey from HIS Motorsports and quickly asked him about it when i was ordering my ETS intake and ucip and he said he might have to look at my .xml in person to get it to work but I'm having a hard time believing theres not a xml that will work with my stock rom. i think I'm just doing something wrong in ecuflash and that I have the correct xml. If anyone can help I'd love to get this working and move on to locating and saving my immobilizer code and getting ready to play with some logging and tuning.. even if I do finally take it to HIS Motorsports to do a base tune with the new mods. I see there is a newer version of the rom from the looks of it at goldenevo's site that looks like this

I have the .xml for that rom also but no stock 52690024 rom to try to open yet but I would'nt mind upgrading if I can get it to open tables and just flash it to the car but I fear that I still need my immobilizer code from my rom..or car.. I still need to research more on that topic but I gotta start somewhere..

Oops I cant seem to upload because the forums saying my .xml file is invalid so i tried to zip them together and then i got a file too large at 339kb error.
Sigh lol add that problem to the list.. so if there needed we'll work something else out..
I'm sure I'm making a simple error.. at least I hope..

Wrong placing it inside the evo folder inside the rommetadata folder?

 

Evo Folder is fine. Make sure your EcuFlash is pointing at the right RomMetaData Folder.

 

I believe i have by pointing the programs options to point it to the rommetadata root folder inside of program files\openecu\ecuflash\rommetadata

some maps open but all associated with my car.. even other peoples copies of the original won't load the tables..

the only thing i see wrong above is that it reporting windows vista while im on windows 7.. but that could just be normal in the program.

 

I reinstalled ecuflash and was curious to try something.. anything... so I right clicked and ran as administrator and Poof! Tables!!! Yay.. So Problem Fixed.. Thx For the def golden evo..!
