ECU/Wiring Gurus: Need fueling adivce
Load current would mean varying voltage right? I believe the Weldon controller is just a signal. It cannot have varying voltage and it just colses a cirsuit once it sees 12 volts
No.. they mean that the signal coming from the ECU should only be activating the controller (like a turn-on wire for an amp). If you are feeding that current through the controller directly to the pump it will draw 30 amps through that circuit and fry the ECU.
I spoke with Kim over at Weldon today. He told me that the "race" terminal on the pump controller is a trigger only, and will not draw a large current. So, I believe it would be safe to run this signal straight from the ECU to this terminal. Just wondering if there are any other saefty precautions I should put in place (ie diodes or fuses etc)
I also need to confirm that the voltage outpiut of pin 51 from the ECU is either 0/12v.
I also need to confirm that the voltage outpiut of pin 51 from the ECU is either 0/12v.
