AMS cold air intake doesn't fit

i wanted to put AMS cold air intake on my EVO X (gsr), i took the car to the shop where i have rally guys that work in Mitsubishi center, they have done many intake systems but they could not fit this one in. They said that the part that connects to the Engine/turbo don't fit since it has two holes instead of one.
Has anyone tried that intake before?

Holes? You mean bungs? One is for the crankcase breather and the other is for the boost control solenoid vent.

Which shop if I may ask? Sounds like they just don't know how to install it correctly.

I see you're from Dallas...check out the NTEC link in my sig, we're having a BBQ lunch meet tomorrow in Dallas.

Sorry i would love to do something like that but I'm currently out of the country and my evo is where I am right now. But i trust those guys since they race in rally and have rally experience for over 15 years, they seemed to know what they are talking about

The intake fits fine, there's two configurations you can specify when ordering:

This intake can be ordered in two different configurations.
  • The default configuration is WITHOUT breather bungs for the crank case and boost control solenoid. With this set-up we recommend an oil catch can for the crank case and venting the solenoid to the atmosphere. This will not affect your EVO X's performance negatively in any way.
  • The second configuration incorporates bungs on the intake pipe where you plug in your breather hoses just as they were from the factory. This is an option at an additional $50 cost

Which ever one you got, bungs or not, it fits just fine. I would seriously consider changing shops. If you have the bungs, it fits just like stock. Without them just let them dump into the atmosphere. Just add a mini filter to the valve cover breather or a catch can. You'll also need to get someone to tune it for you or it WILL throw a P0171 lean code. Might want to find another shop no matter how many years of rally experience it has. Simple install either way.

I agree. It's a really easy, basic install.
