These numbers do not make sense...

So I called AMS to schedule my dyno tune (May 29th of this year if anyone else is going then hit me up!) and I gave them a list of my modifications. I asked him if he could estimate what kind of numbers I could expect to get from these mods and I was a little depressed to hear this, and confused nonetheless..

Here are my mods:

ETS:
V2 cat-back exhaust
Test Pipe
UICP
LICP
Intercooler
5'' intake

MAP:
3'' Downpipe

Injector Dynamic:
1000cc injectors

Grimmspeed:
3-port electronic boost controller

Cobb:
Access Port Tuner

The guy on the phone for sales said I could expect around 330awhp/awtq....I have read A LOT of dyno results and guys with way less mods than me are putting up about these numbers...I was hoping to be around 380, and now I'm second guessing my 700 dollar investment in a tune (even though the deposit is already in)

My question to you guys is: does this seem to low?? or does this guy just not know what he is talking about??

the previous tunes you were seeing are all on different dynos....you cant compare. What you should look for is the gain over baseline on AMS dyno....then you can determin if your $700 tune was worth it.

no its about right I think AMS has a mustang dyno which reads lower numbers than a Dyno Jet the 380 that you where reading about was probley done on a Dyno Jet

obtw why a 5 inch intake on a stock turbo

Forgive me for saying, you're considering a wrong causal relationship. Instead of blaming a tuner, you should be looking at the vendors who sold and recommended mods that don't help your goal, and you should be looking at yourself for not investigating the issue closely. I mean, the info is there for you to consider. I don't mean people's posts asserting an anecdotal tale, but actual numbers relating to each part as well as its impact on the whole. More mods don't necessarily translate into more power. More mods just means more mods and usually a worse running/driving car.

Surely your mistaken about a 5" intake? I can't image how much that would suck for DD, it would only come in handy above 5k rpm, anything less would be a nightmare to tune.
Which brings me to item 2: why $700 for a tune? But then again if you REALLY do have a 5" intake it would take about 8 years to tune it properly.

I don't think anyone hits 380whp on the stock turbo without E85, even on DynoJets. 330-350whp depending on the dyno seems pretty normal from what I have seen here. And others have said you can't really compare results across dynos, you should be comparing your baseline numbers to your tuned numbers on the same dyno. 380whp on a DynoJet setup to spit out high numbers could be the same as 330whp on AMS's dyno.

AMS dyno is putting out 230whp with Stock Evo X.
You have mods for 100awhp more.

I've seen several cars on dynojets hit over 375 on the stock turbocharger.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ts-thread.html

^^ This is our car untuned on the dyno just running bolt on making 345+

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...d-numbers.html

^^ This thread makes 380whp on pump gas.

It also will all come down to the tune. When I had them tune the car the last and final time with them, I had a FP Red installed and i ended up with only 420 whp. Which was a big let down considering I had the same set up as others and they said that 440 would be a stretch. It all comes down to the tune and how far they are willing to push it, as well as what they do in the slotted time they give you.

Sounds right for their dyno. Remember, dynos are just tools and should not be compared to dynos in different locations.

Have a read:

i remember reading something where they had a dynojet, switched to a mustang, and then back to the dynojet

anyways, to the op, on a mustang dyno with fp red at 27 psi, i was only making like 379

Sounds about right to me

I have similar mods and pushed 321whp/374whp, 91oct/e85 on a hot summer (94 deg) SoCal day on a dynojet

you act like all your mods add power. You don't have a base line on their dyno but 330-350 is about all you'll get on pump on average. Again all numbers mean nothing with out a baseline. It's is just a number. go to the track and check your traps .

To everyone asking about the 5" intake. I'm pretty sure he means the filter is 5", not the piping. But even then thats a huge *** filter and no really needed. Also why have 1000cc injecfors on stock turbo/fuel setup? 340~whp is expected with those mods. No way in hell the OP is going to hit his 380whp goal with those mods unless he is on e85 or meth.
