Bought an Evo.. where to get tuned on Long Island?

I live in central Long Island, NY. I'm looking for a good tuner for my newly purchased 08 GSR.. I'll probably be going full bolt ons eventually. My question is are there any reputable shops on the island or do I have to travel to Ivey for a good reliable daily driver tune? Also, if I get tuned with a shop do I have to pay full price every time I add another part on and get re-tuned or are re-tunes much cheaper? Seems like it can get expensive fast..

E-Tunes are an option. Some tuners offer lower prices for each retune. A lot of shops have hourly tuning rates. Some tuners offer a window of time where you can add any part you want and get retuned over and over.

I've never been to NY, or anywhere past Virginia for that matter, but I know STM, E-Spec, and a few other well known shops from NY, NJ, and that area are on this forum.

CBRD is also on here, but in PA how ever far that is from you, but they are an AWESOME shop.

TMW is pretty close to me.. it's looking like that may be my best option or take the extra drive to Ivey.

i might take your offer, couple of months ago i bought my first 08 GSR and took it to a shop in Southern NJ.. & well lets just say the person who i thought was going to tune it (widely known for tuning Evos) didn't do it, instead some one else did in the shop and pretty much messed up my car.

I recently got my clutch replaced but i still need a new tune since now my boost is out of wack due to the Tuner. I'm hoping to get tuned this week or make an appointment.

I have basic bolts on with the same turbo.

Ivey Tune is the closest shop to Long Island that I'd recommend. Know a lot of guys who have been there and swear by it.

Also, check out TriStateEvo.com, there's a bunch of us in the area that put on meets every month or so. A lot more info about local shops etc too.

I'll probably be taking it to E-Spec. I plan on doing a test pipe, catback, intake and UICP then getting it tuned.
