from another newbee....

I bought one of these devices and i think its great. along with the portal to change ECU mapping it also serves as a multi purpose guage (boost if you like) and data logger.

read and delete thrown ecu codes also

also has features such as measuring 0 to 60 times and quarter mile.

I used it for 0 to 60 and logged a 4.2 on my first try in the wet. very accurate because it starts the timing as you start moving and stops when you hit 60 mph. I forget the time interval it updates at but for sure better than a stopwatch.

overall I am pleased with the purchase

Are you able to push a little more hp with the device? Or more psi?

You can get about 30hp more on a stock evo with this from what I hear.

Great for running multiple maps also. When i get my tune im gunna have a map for e85 and a map for 93 octane so whenever i dont have e85 available i wont blow my motor runing 93 and make power still

maps can get pretty intense...basically it "maps" your engine responce outputs based on inputs like throttle opening, rpm's, ect and then reacts by having mapped a certain response to go along with with those inputs such as injecter spray time, timing, boost etc.

Different maps are needed for different mods and fuels.

cobb has generic maps pre built for popular bolt ons so you can pop in a psuedo custom tune for your mods. They also have a software package ---something race something--- thats free but not ready yet for the 2013, but anyway it allows you to go in and do essentially what the pros do, of course you will need a wideband o2 sensor and probably spend way too much time on forums asking questions and doing research...sounds fun to me

I've had my Ap for a few weeks now a love it. As it was said before it can be used as a gauge for many different options on live monitoring. Usually I use it for a boost gauge.

Here's a few dyno sheets from my car.

Too bad the sale just ended. I got mine for $404

coming from ( still got it) the ap is an amazing tool, along with ATR your set. Ive not looked in to evo tuning solutions yet but cobb hasn't failed me yet. as far as AP's and evos go.. are they year specific or will any evo x ap work on any year evo x?
