2013 Evo X GSR K&N No Tune DataLog

So i know there is a huge debate about intake and no tune and so forth. I just purchased a 2013 Evo X GSR from as a "new demo" from a dealership in Edmonton. It had a K&N typhoon intake and hard UICP kit installed by the dealer. They told me this is something they offer with any new Evo. Of course i had already researched that intakes should not be installed without a tune, with the exception of a few that use the stock MAF and housing. This one does. Anyway, i took it home and hooked up Evoscan to do some logs, as i do not trust what i read all the time. I do not have a wideband yet, but i logged throttle position, load, knock, etc. I was mainly looking for knock. I cannot post the logs i have until tomorrow after work, which is where my laptop is. The results though, were good as far as knock goes. I logged one 2nd gear pull, 2500-7000, and two 3rd gear pulls same rpm. In only one log did it knock, 1 count on the way to redline, and 2 near redline, this was the first log. I am not an expert by any means, and i have no baseline logs to go against, but i think it is pretty safe. In my instance anyways. I will post the logs as soon as i have access to them. I just wanted to share what i found. Any input or questions is welcome.

I recently picked up a gsr from Southside mitsubishi in Edmonton. I'm new to mitsubishi and I'm curious about what I should do about tuning, I'm thinking about getting k&n filter, Tomei exhaust, and a hks Bov... I read a lot about needing a tune... Not sure about my options for programmable ecu's... I need control... I'd like to hear the k&n in person though. We should meet up sometime.

you will need air/fuel ratio, that's the main thing being effected by your intake.

If you are in the edmonton area then for sure we could meet up! As for tuning, i am going to see Cam at lightspeed in Red Deer for a protune via COBB access port. COBB also has base maps for different mods to use. No need for a different programable ECU or "stand alone", just flash the stock ECU.

So the Cobb can be tuned by a pro tuner?. I'll have to do some research on the Cobb tuner, it's a good price and a lot of people have good things to say about it. How much does he charge to tune?

By changing the afr and boost alone will make the car drive better. I have a 2013 MR and am running peak 30psi boost of stock turbo, tuned afr to give me 350hp at the wheels.

30 Psi and only 350 whp.?.? Seems like a lot of boost for that amount of power.

How much power would you expect from a stock car, except for exhaust and tune? Car had dyno result of 178kw at the wheels, and went to 260kw at the wheels. Thats almost 50% increase in power with little to no laydown. BTW that is peak boost, not flatline. Car peaks at 30 and bleads down to about 23psi at 7000
