New here just a couple questions

So I used the search option obviously before starting a new thread, but I may have overlooked one with the answers to the questions I have.

So basically I live in Calgary and there is no shop here that will touch an evo x, most people have turned to etunes from people from all around the globe and I personally have no issues with their decisions. But I would feel much more comfortable having a face to face conversation with the person tuning my car. so recently I have contacted a local tuning shop with a very good reputation and acquired about getting my evo x tuned, he said due to the high volume of calls he has gotten about evos he has decided to take on the challenge, so I showed him Ecuflash and evoscan.

so he wants to buy an evo and tune his first before he touches anyone elses to get a feel for the car and to familiarize himself with the ecuflash program. so now onto my questions... first what year evo is the best to buy that he could tune that is the most similar to the rest of the year models, do each year have revision changes to the ecu?
would he be best with a 2011 gsr? and my second question is is there any programs that support histograms? in terms of datalogging software?
and lastly what other tools can you use to tune the car with the exception of like a plug and play option?

Kudos to him for wanting to learn how to tune an evo but I sure as hell would not let him touch, let alone TUNE, my evo!! You are risking a lot leaving your evo in his inexperienced hands...

Either bite the bullet and take a shot at remote tuning or drive to a shop who knows how to tune evos....DO NOT take it to a shop where the customer (you) is doing the research for the tuner determining which tuning software to use, where to read up on how to use said tuning software and which model year is best to start tuning an evo on.

GL and I would keep looking....Check back in with this tuner in a year or more and ask him how man evos he's tuned since you first spoke to him about tuning your evo. Read his customer feedback and talk to as many customers of his to determine how their evos have held up...

All X can be ecu flashed.. Now as far as buying one I would deff look for one thats 2010+.. As the guy above said, even after he learns how to tune the evo, I wouldn't want to get tuned by him right away (no offens)There are plenty of great etuners, I would deff feel more safe with their tunes.

Goold luck op.
