ECUflash "ECU options" What do they do?
Does anyone know what these do? Just looking at my old tune compared to my new tune where my SS-T is now acting crazy, there are some differences i can see in the "ecu options"
ECU options Set #2 Bit.1 shows 1 on my old tune, and 0 on my new tune. ECU options set#4 Bit.1 shows 1 on my old tune and 0 on my new tune. Does this affect anything? Could it cause a "service required" light and some kind of bad comunication between the ECU and SS-T controller? Still trying to figure this thing out... My car is still hardly drivable with the SS-T acting like this :( |
ECU_OPTIONS_2 bit1 (ie second last bit) is rear02 disable/enable
1 = enabled 0 = disabled so that will stop rear02 related CEL's, but hopefully you have removed your rear02 so that it doesn't get screwed up (because the heater also gets disabled) ECU_OPTIONS_4 bit1 I don't know about - yet :P Are there any DTC's? if so what codes? |

P1870 = engine torque signal abnormality..........
P1871 = aps system (signal abnormality)............ P0725 = engine speed signal abnormality........... I would say fix the torque limiter tables so you dont get P1870 and then see if 1871/0725 go away :) |

worry about what you CAN fix now, and then worry about the other remaining stuff later (if its still there)
fix the torque maps. Limp mode for SST = 1/3/5 gears only - so that's why its driving funny fix the torque maps. fix the torque maps. :) |

hrmmm - well fix the 1870 code first (tq maps)
then see what other codes you get... you might be better to go back to the stock ROM and then start tuning again - obviously something wayward has happened along the way :) see how the tqmap fix goes |
I'm getting U0100, P1870, & P1871...
I'm not getting the other code you got. What did you do to fix this? I already have the spacer on my rear o2. (It's the elbow style) Sent an email to my tuner to see what he has to say! Also directed him to this post. |

I got those codes on my MR after flashing a map. Only from the flash - clear them and they never come back.
I was getting the same U0100, P1870 and P1871 and SST only had 2/4/6th gears. What did you guys end up doing to resolve the issue? |
Hopefully everyone has a saved "original rom" for their car somewhere. Best bet is to go back to the original rom and then save a copy and start pasting in your basic tables such as High/Low Octane Fuel and Timing as well as injector tables if those are different from stock. The next tables you may have to work on are the Airflow and Torque limits tables which can set off codes if expected load is too low or too high for any given TPS. Then and you can import other tables if they are different one at a time to see where things start to go badly. Once you establish what triggers the codes you can rework those tables properly and that should resolve your issues.
