o2 sensor question...

I read a few old threads about how guys stripped the o2 sensor out when putting on their exhaust... well... I did it too, and while it will thread enough to go into the new exhaust, I don't want to screw up the bong on it so... I was wondering if I get a new one, will one of these work? http://www.racepages.com/oxygen/mitsubishi.html

I guess they are just generic ones. I am going to use those spark plug non foulers so I thought about just threading it into one of them even if it gets stuck lol as long as it seals. `

Looks like you'll need to splice the sensor wires into your harness. Not a big deal, but def not as clean as a plug and play sensor.

for those of you who are stripping your o2's... can you clarify what it is youre actually stripping? Are you guys actually stripping the thread on the sensor? the thread on the pipe? or "rounding" off the edges of the outside of the sensors?

Not if all the wires are matched from the diagram and you use quality auto butt connectors, and heat shrink the whole mess to make sure it is water tight. My $.02 get an OEM O2 sensor and just plug it in. It will make your life so much easier. It's worth the extra money I think.
