I'm a n00b to turbos, but why doesn't the stock Evo X come with a BOV or Turbo Timer? Or does it accomplish all these functions another way that I am unfamiliar with?

 

It has a BOV. Turbo timers arent needed, but it does have a function to leave the cooling fans on if the coolant is over 220 when the car is off.

it has a diverter which takes the unused air the engine does not use from the turbo and puts it back into the intake manifold. You really dont need a turbo timer unless you are really beating the hell out of your car 24/7... normal driving after boosting will allow the turbo to cool just fine

 

Yea... i didnt know about the fans staying on... haha ... i shut the car off after my first spirited drive and seemed like it was still on after i locked up... I was like WTF? and then thumbed thru the manual and had my "ahhh" moment lol ... Trubo newbs FTW
