Intake, UICP and exhaust...

Hello.
I have been looking for an intake, upper intercooler pipe and an exhaust (dual exit)
I've come to a result and I think I'm gonna go for the AMS air intake and the AMS UICP. And for an exhaust, I'm thinking of the Buschur racing Catback, but what is the difference between the quiet muffler and the bullet muffler? Which one is better?
And what gains could I get from those three, and what kind is a good BOV kit?

I'm don't know alot about this.
Thanks.

check out the Ultimate Racing catback, its a quality peice. I have the Buschur exhaust and its decent, nothing horribly wrong with it....but i think the UR one is a little nicer.

PS... don't get a BOV...no need.

cat back is from the cat back literally. there is your muffler - midpipe - cat'd pipe - down-pipe - turbo

The cat back replaces the muffler and the midpipe, but there is an additional pipe inbetween that and the down pipe with the catalytic converter in it. You can replace this with a high flow cat'd test pipe or one with out a cat in it (not emissions legal).

The buschur exhuast just has a different muffler to tone it down a bit more in the quiet version (magnaflow i believe) and a "bullet" muffler in the other one.

oh and as far as BOV's go... the hks kit works well. Simple enough install. No idle issues without recirculation but you have the option to recirculate it with one of their kits. I would get the intake and such before hand since the intake will "wake up" your stock BOV a bit and it may get you the sound you are looking for.

In the end the BOV is really just an aesthetic modification so it has no real benefit.

Just a testpipe?

i would wait on the ams dual exit...just get their whole turboback and you'll be set...as far as the bov goes, i don't like the "chirp" sound of that particular one...id get on youtube and listen to clips of exhausts and bov's already on evo x's so you get one that sounds good to you

I will post some clips up when I get a chance, but I removed the fin to just get a whoosh sound without the chirp.

EDIT - here's a clip i found comparing some inserts on the bov http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zxpnJ-2jV4
1st setup no insert
2nd purple - less chirp but still there
3rd gold - more chirp then normal

the BOV comes with a silver insert which is sort of between the purple and gold but gets REALLY annoying. I just removed the fin and am quite happy now.

dont get me wrong, the hks is one of the best valves out there...ive had about 5 different bovs and the one i like best is the old school greddy type s....alot of neg. things about it, but ive never had a problem with it, and have actually ran the same valve on 3 different cars

Harman Motive has excellent pieces available as well.

Their exhaust, which is the one I have, is single exit so I wont recommend it for you since you are looking for dual exit. The sound is very nice however, I would suggest checking it out, just in case.

As far as the rest, they have the UICP and a great intake, which you can choose to come with an airbox as well.
Check out their products, complete with videos and graphs @ www.harmanmotive.com
