Grinding noise

Hey all. It has been cold around here lately with the temperatures around -20 to -15 degrees Celsius. At these temperatures, I have been hearing a sort of grinding noise when turning corners while giving it a fair amount of gas. First I thought it was my wheels rubbing on some ice gathered in the fenders but after cleaning all that out, the noise is still there. The car eventually warms up enough and the noise stops. I don't think I am beating on my car when it is below operating temperature, I don't usually go above 3000rpm while I warm it up. So my first question is: does anybody know where this sound is coming from? And second: if it is a matter of warming it up, how do I do that without causing the grinding?

Thank you for you input. Greatly appreciated.

It's likely driveline related and the clearance of the parts are not happy at really cold temps. If you pushed the clutch in mid corner while ti's doing the noise does it instantly disappear or does it keep going? That would help determine if it's related to the engine or driveline and you can go from there.
