Just saw the other thread with the crack in the weld. Anybody else have problems or heard of any?

Mine is perfect and has been running for 6 months no problems. I had mine ceramic coated but that doesn't make a difference with a weld.

I've seen a T1R 02/DP housing split in two as well.

The UR o2 housing/down pipe has a flex section.

I honestly believe it was a combination of high exhaust temps + coolish weather + potentially poor weld caused the issue.

In any case, UR is taking care of the issue.

Mine must be an early one and did not have a flex joint and we had fitment issues anyway. Oh I don't have the one piece unit its 2 seperate parts.

IMO, if you go with a fabricated piece such as this, cracks are to be expected. Some can be more reliable than others depending on the grade and thickness of steel used, but in the end, I doubt any fabricated piece will be as robust as a cast piece. Heck, even cast pieces crack if not properly designed or of an inferior grade of metal. But they're more reliable than a fabricated piece.

Thank goodness for that!

But yea, just like in all sorts of manufacturing there are defects here and there. The real way to measure the reputation is how they handle the situation. T1R replaced the split housing no questions asked, so I'm happy for the owner of that car.
