Powder Coated GReddy SE

I received my GReddy SE two days ago and had some custom work done to the canister section.

I am not a fan of shiny canisters being visible from behind the car nor of burned blue tips.

I had the entire canister from the tips back powder coated in a high temperature matte black wrinkle finish and the outside of the tips polished. I actually liked the blue burn when I saw it in person though and if anything I can just use a torch and burn it back on or it might come back on its own from the exhausts heat anyway. Also the polishing removed the GReddy logo etching which I was pleased about. Now only the tips will be seen and the rest of the piping and canister will just blend away under the car. Anyway, below is how it turned out, thanks for reading.

Installation will be tomorrow

A little bit

Mostly I just don't like the look of a shiny canister glaring back at the person behind, especially at night lights reflect off polished metal like crazy. If the canister were tucked completely away I wouldn't have bothered, but it peaks under the diffuser.

Also has the benefit of not looking as "aftermarket" to law enforcement.

That should do a nice job of keeping the muffler low key while the tips are still nice and polished.

Looks good

Out of curiosity, why polish the outside of the tips but leave the inside blue?

I didn't want them to touch the inside of the tips with the polishing tool because for some reason I am paranoid, LOL. I will get rid of that portion of blue with some liquid metal polish. Though as I said before it might just turn blue again from heat and most likely with the richness the inside of the tips will turn black pretty quick too. The outside was just the bulk of the blue and would have taken me a long time to polish by hand and I wouldn't have been able to get rid of the etched GReddy logo.

Just not my personal style that's all.

But there are quite a few people running this exhaust now so plenty of chances to see it in its natural state, hehe.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I am so stoked to be putting this on tomorrow along with my short shifter, shifter bushing set, shift boot and shift knob that I can't even sleep, LOL
