ACT ME-1 HDSS Anyone?

I am seriously looking into replacing my stock clutch due to slipping and the vendors have suggested ACT ME-1 HDSS for my daily driver. Is there anyone on here who has this clutch installed on thier X, and if so how would you rate it? I'm about two weeks out before ordering and another two weeks before install. Just wanting to hear feedback to ease my mind. Thanks!

Id highly reccomend the Exedy Twin clutch. I had the ACT HDSS and it didnt work out to well for me. Love the Exedy Twin. One of the best clutches in my opinion.

Yeah if I had the extra cash to get the twin I would but thats not the case right now.
Why didn't it work out for you? I'm stuck between getting it or maybe the Exedy stage 2.

Of course the twin is your best bet. I just got one.

If you really can't swing it, I would try the Exedy Stg 2.

Since the Exedy Stage 2 is a puck disc, our ME1-HDG6 (sprung 6 puck) would be more of a apples to apples comparison to that and even a Exedy twin disc. It's rated at 651 ft. lbs of torque.

For a car that sees more time as a daily driver/ road race car with limited drag strip use the ME1-HDSS kit rated at 508 ft. lbs at the flywheel would be my recommendation. If you're drag racing a lot and willing to compromise smooth engagement ( which you would with the Exedy twin or Stage 2) the HDG6 kit is the way to go.

I'm very happy with the HD SS. No issues related to the clutch as of yet, and it drives like stock just a tad stiffer. Feels pretty bulletproof. It may actually be a bit harder to launch than stock due to less slippage, but you can't have your cake and eat it too, right? Disclaimer: I have never tried an Exedy or any twin disc clutch. I don't have that kind of money.

We have it in our evo X and it works great. We have installed them in a few customers cars also. They have worked out great.

We personally run an exedy twin hd in our Evo x and don't regret it. If you do not have the funding for the exedy twin then go with the act.

We have installed quite a few act clutches in evo x's with no problems. A few customers of ours have over 30-40 launches with no problems.
