any of those will make the power but the question will be how will the customer like the unit . One of our customers has a Dominator and we love it , we have actually been thinking of installing one in our own car . I say look around and check out other threads for info as well as look at the dyno sheets to see how the turbo reacts and that should give you a base idea of what to expect in your own car with your mods .

Both the FP Red and the GT30R offer bolt on install and great power. I LOVE my red although you should consider that the Red does not come with the upgraded actuator unlike the GT30R. They are two different approaches. The Red offers slightly bigger compressor wheel but the GT30R exhaust housing is HUGE compared to the stock one that the red has to deal with. If I go bigger yet, I'll probably go GT35R kit.

I'm considering the GT35R kit from AMS beacuse I don't want to go above 27PSI or so for fear of piston/piston ring damage at or near 30PSI.

That is unless I get an AMS shortblock at the same time.

The Garrett 3076R actually has a slightly bigger compressor wheel than the Red. Garrett uses a 76.2mm exducer and 57mm inducer. Red uses 76mm exducer and 54.8mm inducer. The Red has a larger GT35 sized turbine wheel though.

I personally like the 3071R, but that's just my opinion.

The FP Red is a solid turbo, but if you want efficient HP on pump gas at around 26 psi, the GT3076R should beat it out. The GT30 also has an anti-surge compressor inlet not available on the FP Red for the Evo X, so if you plan on tuning the Mivec for quicker spoolup you might be hitting the surge line without that option. If it's going to be a drag racing turbo on race gas at 29+ psi then they are very close in performance. The larger exhaust housing on the GT30 should flow better on the top end at the expense of some lag but it's ball bearing center section should help counter that with better spoolup as well.

I wish we had one of these turbos to test..

Both the FP Red and Blouch Dominator 2.0 made within 10whp of each other on 93 octane on our dyno.

Our evo X runs the blouch dominator 2.0 with mx1 cams and full bolt-ons and made 403whp with 25psi/93octane

A customer car with FP Red, mx1 cams, and full bolt-ons made 411whp with 26.5psi/93octane.

As far as those two turbos go, I would choose the blouch turbo over the red.

The blouch turbo does not surge in any gear and it is also readily available within a week.

If anyone wants to donate their car or turbo for testing, we will give you some great deals to get some information and data out there!!!

I would have to assume this turbo is good for more whp up top at the same boost levels due to the bigger back housing but should be somewhat laggier as well...Only time will tell until information is released.....

Why is it too early to tell on the turbos? I was looking at a red for a while on my IX, the problem, as I was informed by Chris at AMS, is that they roughly flow the same but the 30r has a larger exhaust housing, which is very important for pump gas applications. My goal is 450awhp on 93oct and he told me that you can get over 400 with the red and then the exhaust backpressure will not allow you to make more than that. If you are going with race gas, go red. If you have similar HP goals on 93 as I do, go 30r. I may just wait longer and get an HTA35r... and keep my fingers crossed I have money to build the motor

BTW, is there a 30r bolt on available for IXs? I am jealous you X guys have that option

I would recommend an HTA 35R, mellon made over 700whp on pump gas with one! Esp if you are going to make this a full out track car once its paid off. Once you hit the "track car" stage you are probably going to want something bigger than both the options you are currently looking at.
