build date vs engine & trans failures

I am wondering if something may have changed in later builds or not so if you have had a major failure of the 4b11 engine or completely lost a gear please post your build date from the door tag or pm me if not wanting it to be public. Thanks

Good thread, I remember someone suggesting that it could be a mid production change in the engine parts, and therefore, only some engines are blown while most are still running strong.

Blown engines?? Just about every incident posted here have been mods with lack of tuning and or lack of common sense

It does seem that way. There was a case to where it could have been a locked up oil pump or something but as a curiosity I have been pondering if there where production changes even tho no tsbs came out with different ring gaps and such.

My front diff went at 4.5K miles. I know of numerous similar cases (more than 10 already). The cause is that the pins holding the gear shafts broke and the shafts went out grinding against the diff case. My car is build in december 2007.
