UPDATE.....
Got the new Xcase in and it is totally back to normal. No clicking/rubbing noise when turning sharp... and no more clunk/click when starting to move in first gear. And it only took them a day to put the new one in after they got it to there shop.

We replaced an X transfer case a while back. The hydraulic control line had been leaking internally in the T-case and the ATF fluid had mixed with the diff fluid, which caused the T-case to burn up.

The symptom was a traction control warning light because of low fluid in the ASC pump, and the T-case leaking fluid because it overfilled and was coming out the breather.

I had the same problem, but no lights.
They replaced the T-case, took about 2 days, they paid for a rental.
I also had leaking fluid because it overfilled and was coming out the breathe.

We just got a IX in today on the hook with another burned up Tcase. Only 6K on the clock.

same issue of the actuator pump fluid leaking internally and contaminating the gear oil. This thing was BURNED UP, it made the whole shop smell. The infra-red temp gun read 260F on the Tcase.

$3750 for a new Tcase, warranty paid, first question the DSM asked though was, "any mods?". Be careful on this one guys.
