so let me get this straight...

Evo X has

Tranny fluid
Transfer case fluid
Rear diff fluid
AYC/ ACD fluid

the x has 1k on it and i was going to change out all the fluids. I can find info on what tranny fluid people are using but what about the transfer/rear diff? I know the AYC/ACD can only be done at the dealership....something about a scan tool?

Is the rear diff the only one that get AYC differential gear oil (differential mechanism part) AND AYC differintail gear oil (torque transfer part)? I was reading the service manual and there's two fluids that go to the rear diff.

just making sure all my bases are covered.

Edit: seems like the AYC goes to both diffs in the front and the rear. Also has a reservoir in the rear as well. When does this fluid need to be changed and how do you go about doing it?

Its cool.

I kow its every 15- 30 k depending on how you drive. The reason for me changing the transmission fluid out so early is because of people having the 1-2 2-3 gear isseus. My Acura RSX had these issues and when I got around 1-2 k on the clock I swap fluids out and it shifted like butter ever since. I figure if i swap the fluids out now, that the tranny would shift smooth and no caused any 'problems'

I changed out my transmission fluid to royal purple a week and a half ago. My drain plug had some shavings even though I really didn't have any shifting issues (although I had a shift or two where it grinded for a second). After the change the shifting has been somewhat smoother although it is a minor improvement. The improvement is most noticeable when the car isn't warmed up yet. I haven't done the diff or transfer case yet. If you need to borrow a funnel with a hose I have one
