Perrin Drop in Help

I got this today from Fedex. Looks great.
How do you install this?
It doesn't fit in the airbox no matter how install it.
Does this requires removing the airbox?
My oem paper filter fits better than this.
Anyone have any ideas?

It fits, but it will be a tight install... open up the topside of your air box like a clam (make sure the underside is still joined) and just slowly insert the Perrin filter. The "Perrin" label should be facing you. Then clamp up the top 2 metal clips and you are done. Took me 20 mins to do it cuz I was being real careful. I'm happy with the dropin, noticeable improvement in power and gave me 1.5 more MPG.

I did that, Its about 1/2" too far from the clamps. I forced it in but it doesn't clamp at all.

Sounds like it might not be seated right, make sure you push the filter all the way down and that the lip of the filter goes under the lip of the air box

Yes, I did. Its all the way down as far as it can go. I checked with a flashlight to make sure.

Today, I decided to take airbox apart and out of the car and installed the filter. Its a bit more work, but I got it in. This filter is really tight and larger than the oem. I wish the filter was a little bit smaller everywhere so it would be easier to install it rather than remove the airbox.

Just take both halves of the box out. It takes 2 seconds.
