Hard to shift between gears?

Hard to shift between gears?
My car is kind of hard to shift between gears, but when I drive for a long trip like one hour trip, it shifts much more smoother than the beginning. I installed the TWM short shifter, and I know I need to put more effort to shift, but I don't think that's the case since it shifts smoother after the long trip. Could anyone help me out? Is it the transmission problem? Thanks

How many miles on the car ,Also do you have the under hood shifter cable bushings . The trans does shift better when it is warmed-up .

My car has the new fluid only 800 miles. I also discover that it is hard to push in and pull out from 1st, 3rd and 5th gear, but it is easy to push in and pull out from 2nd, 4th and reverse gear. What happen to my car???
