Bar & Plate vs Tub & Fin intercooler

Tub and fin will never be a popular aftermarket option because it is to hard to make. But there must be a reason HKS uses it (expensive). For one the stock is super light and seems like it would dissipate heat much better then a thick bar used in bar and Plate models. I personally don't know why someone hasn't gone without a intercooler straight from the turbo to intake with a double nozzle meth system for cooling. Just killing time.

I compared the HKS R-type 4" intercooler with other brands and it nearly weighs the same as the stock cooler, oh and those other brands, same size, weigh twice as much.
