clutch

how long before stock clutch goes ? it recently started chattering(juddering)at low speed move off in 1st gear.it only does it sometimes.also can i get away without resurfacing the flywheel on clutch change. no mods and i don"t launch.thanks.Rasta

Clutch life is dependent on a number of factors. These include driving style, power output, flatness of surfaces used as well as several other factors. That being said you really ought to either resurface the existing flywheel or buy a new one. If you don't you can experience reduced clutch life, reduced torque capacity and a greater potential for chatter than you would otherwise. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
