Thank you for the info! I'll have to consider this when I order my single exit cat back and test pipe.

I hear you feel everything with the side mounts, but it is still in the back of my mind to go and get. =)

I have the original red mount and it is about as stiff as you would ever want it on the street, if vibration is a concern then the black one is going to be your best bet. I found the stiffer engine mount combats one of the most annoying things. When entering a corner at a brisk pace and throwing the car around, the reduced engine movement makes a huge difference for avoiding a mis-shift. For straight line shifting it's not as big as a factor as compared to the under hood shifter bushings. I haven't installed the under console bushings and clutch line yet but so far I would say I only get a problem shifting once every couple of months when the car is cold and I get lazy with the clutch.

For those on a shoe string budget I tested putting a window weld type of bonding rubber into the stock piece and definitely stiffened it up quite a bit. I may swap that in for the winter season since it takes 5 minutes and see how the car feels, should be similar to the AMS black rubber mount but that may depend on how much window weld you put into the mount and it may not hold up as well. The rear mounts for the differential state on their website that they are not for street use so I may try the window weld on that one as a test if the front one tests out reasonable.

The only thing that I found that helps the vibration of any motor mount is raising the idle to 900-1000rpm. Plus makes driving much easier on inclines and dead stops.

I had all 3 AMS mounts, as well as a fabricated mount for the rear motor mount. I loved the setup, it completely changed the car. It was definitely louder and vibration was certainly there, but I thought it was worth it for the tradeoff. All of the car's responses/reflexes seemed to be enhanced exponentially, seemed like I picked up 30 horsepower, and the shifting was as good as it was in my old S2000 (i.e., as good as it gets).

I have since taken out the front and motor side mount at the request/demand of my wife, and the tranny side and rear mount will be coming out this week or next. The car seems so tame in comparison with only 2 mounts in, almost sloppy and loose compared to what it was with all mounts in. Most notably, the shifting sucks once again, despite TWM short shifter and bushings and AMS underhood bushings.

I still have the side and rear mounts for sale if anyone is interested.

hey guys just wanted to bring this thread back up from the dead...LOL

I have a 2010 GSR...when I installed my AMS front motor mount...I took note of the OP's concerns on the bolt being too loose....well my 2010 doesn't have this problem...works just fine...no play what so ever and is real tight through the hole

Does anyone have any video footage of how the X drives with AMS mounts? I looking for videos inside the car just so that I can get a idea of how much vibration their is. If anyone in souhtern California has these mounts installed if we can meet up so I can see on how the car rides and vibrates. Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead. I didn't want to start up a thread of something that has been discussed. Thanks in advance you guys!

If you are concerned about excessive vibration in the passenger compartment I would go with the black "street" version of the front mount. Its considerably stiffer than the stock mount but wont vibrate your teeth out.

We have all the mounts, front, rear and sides. The sides are Torque Solutions, front and rear are AMS. There's vibration but the shifting is improved, the character of the car is better, "less sloppy", "tighter". Are all good descriptions. It's a race car so I don't care about vibration, but if you are worried the it may be not for you. It's not that bad and the tactile responsiveness and overall improvement in the car is worth it, in my opinion.

Thanks. Looks like I already know what I am getting with my Christmas bonus. Can't wait to install these bad boys on my car.

I have the front and side mounts, car feels amazing but there is definitely a lot of vibrations (dont really mind them too much). Should I install the rear motor mount? will the vibrations increase a lot?
