Turbo Manifold?

So I'm planning on getting a tune when the weather gets warmer, and I'm planning to have all my mods purchased and installed before I get the tune. So far I got:

TBE (T1R 90R catback, with T1R resonated test pipe, and T1R 02 downpipe)
Intake (Harman Motive)
Upper Intercooler Pipe (Nissei one piece)

I'm just wondering will having a turbo manifold installed for my tune give me that much more gains? I was probably gonna go with the T1R turbo manifold too if I get one, but not sure if I wanna fork out 800 bucks for it if it doesn't much of an increase.

Thanks everyone.

I doubt you'd see sizable gains on the stock turbo and cams with the addition of a tubular manifold. At least not gains worth 600-800 bucks.

Can always get your stocker ported and polished. Your local tuner might do it, or Grimmspeed or the like.

BR does it also now for the intake side... maybe soon for exhaust side.

Yeah, I figured they'd do it for exhaust side too, and they just haven't put up a link on their store.

I just ordered a Full Race for when I install a BB-X. The reviews usually say that your spool is slightly delayed and you gain 8-10hp up top. That's similar to the gains that you'd see by having Grimmspeed, MAP, or whoever port your stock manifold as well. I think the tubulars are bought as much for looks as anything.

I wouldn't bother until you do a turbo upgrade.

Ah okay thanks for the feedback.

I guess since I started this thread, how about an intercooler? I hear the stock one gets heat soaked pretty quickly, so I was thinking of either an AMS or ETS one. Is it recommended I get this put on first before I tune? I wouldn't think it would effect anything put maintain cool boost, and preventing any power loss. Any suggestions on this?

Stay away from a MBC, just order a 3-port boost solenoid and watch your WGDC drop drastically and you'll get better ECU boost control.

A tubular manifold like the Full Race will usually spool the turbo faster than the stock manifold, due to equal length runners, fully divided passages and smooth merge collector right at the turbo.

I've found the Full-Race Manifold to be excellent in the low-end spool and response department due to the design using higher velocity 42mm OD runners. While you would get the most gains on an upgraded stock framed turbo setup there would still be gains across the board for a stock turbo setup if you are shooting for full bolt-ons and 400+ crank HP range. Other manifolds I've tried that used a larger runner setup would probably not be so good for low end spool and response but I always had a larger turbo installed with them so it's hard to directly compare. Top end gains for both were easily 15-20 crank HP based on my comparisons.

lulz. I figured it'd compensate a bit for running an hfc.

I read some tests by Buschur that showed the opposite. I'd obviously welcome it if that were the case.

Yeah i've heard that a MBC isn't the way to go with the X. What's the 3-port boost solenoid, and what purpose does it have?

replaces the stock bleed-style system with an interrupt system which gives better control and allows the ecu to retain control over boost.
