p0304 - Misfire in Cylinder #4... HELP :(

I recently had turbo, cams, and dw 800cc injectors installed... I was given a base map to drive my car home on (800kms) The car ran great for 2 days on the base map and for most of the journey home... 20 minutes away from home and I popped a CEL.. p0304 misfire in cylinder 4. When it happened the car started to sound messed up like a subaru so for sure something is wrong with one of the cylinders... I stopped turned the car off waited and turned it back on and it was normal again but it still happens if I drive.

I got thinking and was wondering if being low on fuel could cause this to happen? I did get stuck behind an accident on the highway for a couple hours and was running pretty low on gas when it happened. I've run the car on less fuel than this before without issue but that was also with a different fuel pump and different fuel injectors. Not sure if this would happen from being low on fuel since it was distinctly a misfire in one cylinder but hopefully it's a possibility? That would be the last injector on the fuel rail so if not enough fuel was getting to the rail do you think that just one injector could experience the problem?? This would also sorta explain why the car ran flawlessly for 1000+ kms then all of a sudden experience an issue when I'm 20 minutes from home.

What do your plugs look like?
Have you tried clearing the code and running it since?
Have checked to make sure the #4 injector is properly seated?

Original spark plugs?? Swap the spark plug in cylinder 4 & another cylinder & see if the misfire follows it...The same thing happened to my IX after only 4k miles...

Just turning the car off then back on resolved the issue temporarily. When I cleared the code it came back a few minutes later after another misfire.

Stock plugs with 14000 miles on them, haven't check them yet.

I made sure the injectors were seated in there good and everything looked good. I have not been able to replicate the problem since parking my car, gonna fill it up with gas since I'm really starting to feel like it was just running out of gas.

you should swop the injector from #4 to #1 & start to drive, see if the code pops up with the same error code but this time linking to #1. Happened to my previous ride where the injector was faulty

If filling up my tank does not resolve the issue I will try this. Thanks.

After you get gas in there, check all four plugs for sure, it's possible one is coming (or came) apart. That could happen for a variety of reasons but I won't get into the messy details just yet.

i had the same problem but with cyl 3 a visuel inspection wasnt good , it was broken inside after a while the hole ceramic came off and the pin was holding it back , so befor they fall in and on to your piston change them ad check the gap

Filled it up and it ran perfect, drove around for 3 hours without any issues. I suspect when I installed my jnz fuel pump kit (walbro) that I put the fuel pump a little too high in the inner housing so now the sock is not touching the bottom of the fuel container. Gonna rip it apart and push it down a little.

Checked the plugs and they all look good!

same thing happend here with HKS plugs, when u have look at the plug try gently pushing ceramic bit see if it moves. Im saying this as my tuner shop failed to notice that one ceramic "thing" on plug was stuffed.
