2010 Tial QR BOV with stock piping solution

So we all know the new Tial QR been out for a month. This is some of the information I found from a vendor STM in the evo forum.

Pics of Evo 9 BOV compared to the Tial QR from one of the evo members.

Just from looking at the chart for the idle spring rate I believe our Evo X needs the -11 psi spring for -18 to -21 in/Hg. If I remember someone said to go one spring up which is down when your in the negatives for what your car idles at so that would be the -12 psi spring. Someone need to confirm that.

My proposed solution for us Evo X members to use thing on our stock rubber hoses and piping without having to weld a flange to our UICP. Since the Tail QR has a 50mm opening (1.96") and our hose is around 1.25"-1.375" diameter, I found some hose couplers that go from 2" to 1.5" and 1.5" to 1.25". I wonder if this will work if someone want to test it out. It's a $5 solution from home depot at the plumbing aisle.

You want to go one spring rate down, not up, or it will be too stiff to open properly as well as decrease piston travel.

Are you suggesting -9 psi spring then is appropriate for our car?

Yup, those were my pics. :-) STM suggested for me to drop 1 spring rate. It's completely opposite common sense, thinking a stiffer spring would hold it closed..but it's boost pressure that's holding it closed, not the spring.
My only concern is trying to clamp the reducer onto the bov. The base only has a small lip for the vband clamp, and it tapers up from there..it may want to try to slip off, but I guess with someone holding it in place, and tighten the crap out of the clap, it should hold.

Or you can use the supplied flange and bolt it to the BOV and use the extended sleeve part of the welded flange and shove that end into the reducer.

Those are rubber couplings, they will not hold up to repeated expansion from the boost.

I wish someone would make a custom flange that you can clamp on with the v-band but fits the stock bov hose. Now that would be perfect!

Vibrant (link) and Hose Techniques (link) should have silicone transition couplers in the sizes you need.

Are you guys suggesting using the WHITE spring on a stock cam'd EVO X? I ordered unpainted (11psi).

Any updates on this? Maybe Tial could chime in and offer some sort of kit to bolt to factory hoses

I'd like to see this sucker installed. It's going to be tricky since the bov hose is made alot smaller than the Tial.
