Engine break-in with new Clutch (plz read, i've done my share)

So im picking up my car tomorrow. Rebuilt my evo8's motor with 2.3l stroker duel to oil consumption. I did my research on how to break in the new motor and im pretty confident this will be easy.

Maybe someone has some good info or suggestion on .....

Q; How am i supposed load pressure on the piston rings with a new clutch?

Cause apparently you have to step on it, in order to create this pressure on the rings, so they can bed in properly. But obviously i cant put to much loan due to new clutch that requires a 300mile break in.

What's a safe rpm range for a new clutch during break in? 4000rpm?
And can i do short burst of accel from 1500rpm-3500rpm to create this load on the rings, or will the clutch really not like that?

any info would be appreciated.

You posted in the X forum, not that it should matter. My tuner broke in my motor by doing vacuum pulls on the dyno...engine braking, etc.

Torque is what harms clutches but the motor needs a variety of rpms to break in, so lower the boost as much as possible to drop the torque...make yourself a nice big boost leak or something.

Torque is what harms the clutch, but won't i be applying torque when trying to load pressure on the rings? Seems that it is that most important to get a good seal.

Would vacuum pulls be enough? Doesn't seem like i'd get a lot of load on the rings that way?

That's what my shop did for my motor and I didn't have a new clutch...

whats the cheapest part of the build? motor or clutch?

i would just follow the break in for the motor, and just change gears slowly/properly until you have done 500...

Makes sense, motor costs way more, but at the same time i dont want to destroy my clutch and spend another 1500$ on replacing it, or replacing it early.
