I hope the ACT HDSS can because I am installing mine next week. I almost sent it back to buy an OEM stock clutch because I plan on sticking with stock turbo. Restocking fees...lame.

I have the Exedy Stage 2 HD and it broke it after 6 months. What are your plans with the car? If you keep it close to stock than stick with the stock clutch and the CMC will be fine. If you want to upgrade the turbo , than you will need a stronger clutch, and than upgrade your CMC. I would upgrade it before it breaks.

I will never have more than 350 wtq but I dont like how the stocker slips in first when launching.

The Specs or clutch master won't, they use a different fulcrum point on their pressure plates and put less stress on the system. Exedy makes pedal feel stiffer for the same reason womens jeans companies vanity size pants.

The way I see it there is no good upgrade master cylinder. People are still having probs with the ssp unit. Plus the stock clutch can hold 350 wtq fine it just slips in first gear during launching which is annoying to me.

So specs and cm are ok, what else? Who else has upgraded their clutch but have not broke the master cyl yet?

Not sure if you've seen this, but this is something that I am looking into doing some time in the future before I get a new clutch/turbo.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ve...-breaking.html

I haven't read (or really searched for) any problems with this conversion.

Did you remove the clutch restrictor pill in the slave cylinder? That will help a lot.

Custom clutch from Southbend.

I've been running it for 18k miles or so with no issues. SB stated it can handle 490 ft/lbs. (currently I'm only pushing about 305 ft/lbs)

See my sig for description, contact Andy from Southbend for more info...ball park price is 650 or so.
