Since you brought it up Murlo, what is the proper way to launch? I never got into launching my VIII because I was afraid of breaking a ring gear / pinion.

LOL, i have no effin idea...i hope to figure it out at the track though

I wasn't implying that the OP can't launch/drive right but if you do it incorrectly that many times obviously that wouldn't help the situation...it was more of a question than a statement.

No you're definitely correct. There is a proper way. Just gotta ask a drag pro. I don't drag, and don't plan to, but I'd still like to know

I don't have anything against drag racing and hard launches, but threads like this remind me why I personally never launch my car.

The difference is that subaru brakes the traction at launch and evo not, because of the torque limiters, I have rised them with approx. 25% but it's not enough. If you loose traction at launch it's better for transmission.
