Tried to make a poll, but it didn't work... just wondering who here gets it, how severe is it? What BOV are you using?

I noticed no matter how good the bov is you can still get flutter if not in the correct gear when you accelerate.

Bov's are not the cause for flutter when you accelerate. That would be comprssor surge. Bov flutter and compressor surge are completely different.

I get flutter using a tial. But that's just because im using 1 spring stiffer then I should be running for my inhg at idle. If I swap to the correct spring, I get very very little flutter to where it's not even noticeable really. Most the time if fully opens but my car is tuned for the stiffer spring so it wants to stall when coming to stops when using the correct spring.

I'll swap the the proper spring later on when I get a tune for bigger cams. The flutter I get now isn't much and only happens under 10psi which I don't think is hurting the turbo at all.

flutter? Mine is usually accelerating in 5th gear on the highway... usually at 45-50 mph. I thought this synapse bov might have helped, but nope.

There's a few ways.
Down shift before you accelerate
Change compressor cover to an anti surge cover
I think ported intake mani and tb help
Adjust wastegate
Get a new tune
Upgrade turbo

There's tons of info in this forum. Do a search. There are lots of threads regarding compressor surge.

That's because it's NOT the bov. Your turbo is producing more boost then your engine can use causing the extra air to bounce back into the turbo. Big no no. Under hard acceleration it could cause serious damage. Be careful

I also suffer from surge/flutter in my car. So I bought the Synapse BOV and installed it (recirc.) but it didnt solve the issue.... So I got my hands on the Synapse DV and it completely solved the issue !! Hope this helps.

First off, like others have stated, it's compressor surge, and you'll hear it from time to time if you're running an open element filter. Guess what, even if you had the stock airbox w/ or without a panel filter, it's still doing it just that you can't hear it. I think being able to hear it is better so that you can change your driving habbits.

Pretty much the same with mine especially when you're in a higher gear than what you're supposed to be in.

Yep, happens to me in 5gear mostly when I clicked through the gears too fast! There are mods that you can do to elimitate it, but I'm just using the driver mod. Shift down a gear if you're suddenly doing an slight incline hill rather than mashing the gas a bit more in 5th gear
