My FPblack vs. FPred Comparison

Here is my shops overlay of my FPred setup and my FPblack setup.

Obviously the FPblack has different cams and head work...but a decent comparison as its same car (not really same motor, lol) but most importantly the same dyno!
http://dbptuning.com/dyno/graph_data...ata_type=boost

The HP/boost one is goofed up i think, but just check them out individually I guess.

I love the FPblack.

Thanks for thw work you put in but what is the point to compare two, completely different, setups?

You don't have to look. They aren't that different, both are maxed out setups on E85. The spool characteristics are the important part that i was trying to show.

Obviously I don't have to.
But what kind of answer it is?

If you want to compare spool characteristics for those turbos I have to ask you again: what is the point to compare stock vs cams & headwork?
Because what you have tested has nothing to do with pure turbo comparison.

Maybe I am missing something here but IMHO to compare two turbos you shall do it on same car, same motor, best if it same day (to get very precise results) or just with similar weather conditions.

Its not a perfect comparison but its close. The red had mx1 cams and the black has gsc cams and head work. From the looks of it the black spools darn near just as fast as the red.

Thank you....

Yea I would've loved to wasted thousands of dollars swapping cams and turbos on a stock motor just to please you.

I was simply showing my two setups and the fact that the black spools pretty dang good.

Please me? Give me a break.
To justify the title of the post, maybe.
OK, you will not understand.

Fully agree - comparing two setups, not the turbos.

EOT.
All the best.

His head work is minimal as far as spool, and there's some argument that mx1 flow better then larger gsx cams, so I'd say this is a very good spool comparison.

Well I can tell you this, I don't believe the whole hype on the MX1's at all. They were a decent mild cam but the GSC s2's are better for my current powerband and they will make more power up top. But that makes the comparison to me even better as the GSC s2's if anything would hurt spool not improve it.

My head work isn't mild really, its fully built. I got +1mm oversized valves, dual springs/retainers, the new cams, and the head is ported out.

I would love to see a comparison of the Red vs. Black at the same psi level. Your graph shows 80 extra HP with the Black, but it's also running an extra 6psi. TQ is only 25 higher too which is odd. At the same PSI level it seems like the Black would barely make more HP and possibly even less TQ than the Red.

It would make more HP still I would guarentee that, but torque would be lower for sure.

Here is my normal DD tune with the black.

HP/Torque

HP/Boost

So if you look the black is a few hundred rpm's laggier when running similar boost levels and torque is lower, but that is because spool is slower. Torque on these cars are directly related to spool, the faster you spool the more torque (peak) you make since its earlier in the RPM's.

However, if you look the black's torque curve is way flatter.
