Does it work? Yes or No? How many miles has your light been off? Purchased a test pipe and gonna give it a whirl. Have a scan tool, so hopefully I will be able to fine tune
I have had a mechanical fix on my Evo for approximately 8k miles. I run a resonated test pipe and the CEL fix has been successful. I also recently just passed NY state inspection.
You almost need a third option, worked for a long time then starting coming on...
Basically any small exhaust leak can alter the balance of exhaust flow that reaches the rear O2 sensor and if there isn't enough it will also trigger a CEL. My light "mostly" stays off now but when I had the pre O2 exhaust leak it would trigger after only a few drives like clockwork. I tried all the ECU fix combos of settings and none of them stopped the codes. It was either flagging it as not efficient enough or no signal reaching the O2/heater. It seems that every car has a slightly different balance point so this is why some have problems while others never look back.
