The Megan Drift-Spec is honestly pretty quiet IMO. Some may be skeptical of the quality of Megan products, but after buying it and seeing the welds/quality it's comparable to my old Perrin exhaust. (which is a good thing!)

I don't think single and quiet go together very well. But you could always keep the stock cat get a single tip then install a silencer and keep it in at all times. Greddy, Tomei, ARK are all viable options.

+1 ^^..i have the greddy tic also..i installed with stock cat and it was not loud at all.i got repsonses like .."did you even put an exhaust on" ."i didnt even hear you pull up ".then installed milspec hfc cat .got a slight deeper tone.but still got same repsonses.but it has seemed to get a bit deeper tone.maybe do to hfc being more broken in..intake and i/c kit tune.

Greddy Ti-C is still loud enough to be noticed by the popopski at night.
I'd say go for it though with the silencer it is barely audible

Here is probably the cheapest link you will find for one:

I have Invidia N1 on my evo with STOCK CAT. First 2 weeks it was insanely loud (aka blitz nur spec r on older evos/stis), I was going to change it back to stock. But after 2 weeks catback became noticeably quiter. And now its volume is on par with Fujitsubo JASMA (quiet) exhausts. I hope catback won't be louder, when I change stock cat for mini-muffler testpipe.

Evacuation on one side has the great advantage of reduced weight.

well i have a invidia 3'' single exhaust on there now..has the 3'' downpipe and test pipe combined on it as well. i love the way my invidia sounds but its just a little loud for my area...will putting my stock downpipe and getting a ets resonated testpipe cure the overall loudness. i bought the car with these exhaust products on it
