Advice on exhaust setup please

hey guys i got a bit of a dilema lol. i recently took my megan racing 3" cbe off due to the fact that my neighbors were all douchebags and hated my exhaust. i come home late pretty often (like 1am). so i need a quiet exhaust. i was thinkin of doing my own setup keeping the stock muffler on. i was thinkin downpipe, and a catted test pipe and stock muffler. do you think this would be a stupid idea as opposed to buyin a quiet cbe? and also i will be gettin the cobb ap and it says that i need a tbe to use stage 2 map. will the set up that i want affect this??
please give me all your opinions and advice
thanks guys

pix are always nice lol

I would probably suggest - selling your current system and just pick up another aftermarket. There are some pretty inexpensive system out there that are quiet. We are running a Tsudo which was 450 bucks and sound wise its great - its not loud but has some presence and most importantly for us no highway drone. It has in my opinion some flaws - hangs a little lower than stock and their build quality is inconsistent. TurboX would be another option.

Quiet aftermarket catbacks = Cobb ($1200 new) or Magnaflow ($400 new). I've had both and really like both. The Cobb is a bit quieter and smoother, but you pay for it.

Perrin ($750), Blitz ($1100), HKS ($800 / restrictive), ETS v2Quiet ($800), Magnaflow ($500ish), Fujitsubo ($xxx). All are among quiet exhausts. I recommend any of them except the HKS. I have the Perrin and I'd say it's 1 step above stock. Sounds delicious

Your neighbors complained to you? I live in a small neighborhood where the houses are relatively close together and nobody has said a word surprisingly, and I'm running a Map o2 dp, rexpeed tp, and megan drift-spec catback. If I were you, I'd just tell them tough sh*t, or to buy you something more quiet if it bothers them that much.

You do not wanna put your stock exhaust back on. This is why.

Yeah the stock puts on the backpressure. Though downpipe, test pipe, and stock exhaust are all pretty quite. I know the greddy systems for the X are fairly quite compared to the megan racing one.
